Abstract

A critical need to transform huge amounts of post-consumer textile waste (PCTW) into valuable circular resources prompted the authors to examine the strategies which may be adopted to enhance the practice of circular textile economy (CTE). This qualitative exploratory study included semi-structured interviews with a representative of the company and secondary data content analysis. By design, the authors operationalised CTE in the form of circular business models (CBM). The research results demonstrate CBMs canvas for slowing-loops reuse (i.e. resale, re-purposing), which may be communicated to other stakeholders in the sector and may be used as a visual tool in education. However, CTE strategies and CBMs are subject to change. The research results are exploratory and offer insights which may be further tested in other contexts. In general, the research may contribute to the theory of circular business models, with a particular relevance to post-consumer textiles (PCT) circularity.
